Following the Israeli attack on the Indonesian hospital in Gaza, the Chairman of the humanitarian organisation MER-C, Sarbini Abdul Murad, said that three MER-C volunteers stationed at the hospital were in good health. "As of today, we haven't been able to communicate with our colleagues there," Sarbini told a MER-C press conference in Jakarta on Monday (20/11/2023). "However, according to our sources on the ground, based on our network, the three MER-C volunteers are, God willing, in good health. We have received some photographs and they are currently in the Indonesian hospital," he said. Sarbini explained that there were about 700 injured people being treated at the hospital and about 5,000 displaced people, the majority of whom are women and children. "There is no strong justification for Israel to attack because the Indonesian hospital contains patients under care," he asserted.
