Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Traffic Corps has launched “Presisi Berperisai Cahaya Patrol Operation” to curb illegal street racing, citing public safety risks and links to criminal activity.
The nationwide operation orders increased police presence during late-night hours when most races occur.
“All traffic units from provincial to district levels must increase patrols from night until early morning,” said Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho on Sunday (2/11/2025). “Enforcement must remain firm, humane, and accountable.”
He said that the use of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) Mobile systems and body cameras to ensure transparency during operations. About 95% of traffic violations will be handled digitally, while only 5%, including street racing—require direct enforcement.
Chief Agus also instructed coordination among intelligence, criminal investigation, and traffic units to identify hotspots, illegal workshops, and potential gambling ties. Police will collaborate with tactical units to secure nighttime operations and protect both officers and the public.
