inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi confirmed that the transportation infrastructure affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has not disrupted logistics distribution, ensuring that aid distribution to the community continues smoothly.
According to Dudy, the damage to transportation infrastructure caused by the earthquake in NTT has not disrupted logistics distribution, ensuring that transportation services continue to operate smoothly.
"Oh no, no. It has no impact at all. It has no impact at all," the Minister of Transportation said in response to questions from the media after attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the Manggarai Affordable Housing Project in Jakarta on Friday (8/21/2026).
Dudy stated that based on the latest reports from the field, the airport and seaport have not been significantly impacted, although several terminal facilities sustained minor damage due to the earthquake.
He explained that only about two terminals were affected by the earthquake, so the government is immediately clearing debris and making repairs using the currently available emergency budget.
According to Dudy, accelerating infrastructure repairs is a priority to ensure transportation services quickly return to normal and support smooth public mobility and aid distribution to disaster-affected areas.
Dudy emphasized that the damage to transportation facilities did not affect the flow of logistics, as the distribution of goods and community needs in NTT continues to run smoothly.
However, he acknowledged that there were distribution obstacles on several land routes due to landslides that blocked access to several earthquake-affected areas on Flores Island.
As a solution, Dudy is encouraging the use of sea routes using ships to reach areas that are difficult to access by land vehicles due to disruptions to the road network.
Dudy added that the nature of Flores Island as an archipelago allows logistics distribution to be diverted via sea transportation so that community needs can continue to be met sustainably.
"We recommend that if, for example, landslides do occur, because NTT is an archipelago, ships can circumnavigate areas that were previously difficult to reach by land transportation," he said.
