Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation said the ATR 42-500 aircraft involved in the Bulusaraung crash in Maros, South Sulawesi had been declared airworthy based on regulatory supervision and technical inspections conducted prior to the incident.

“Based on oversight data and airworthiness inspections, the ATR 42-500 with registration PK-THT met all airworthiness requirements,” Director General of Civil Aviation Lukman F. Laisa said on Monday (19/1/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The ministry said that the aircraft underwent its latest ramp check on 19 November 2025, at Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, followed by an airworthiness certificate renewal inspection on 3 September 2025. The operator, Indonesia Air Transport, also completed routine maintenance on 25 December 2025, in line with the approved maintenance program.

The aircraft was later found on Mount Bulusaraung, after losing contact during a flight to Makassar. Authorities said the findings focus solely on technical eligibility, while the accident’s cause remains under investigation.
