Inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. Governor of Bengkulu, Helmi Hasan, announced on Monday (28/4/2025) plans to enroll troubled youth in discipline training programs led by the Navy and the local police.
Children involved in disobedience, drug use, truancy, or other negative behaviors will be "picked up one by one" for intensive character-building sessions.
"The training will last until they show improvement and will not be returned to their parents until they change," Governor Helmi said via electronic message, as quoted by antaranewscom.
He emphasized the government's commitment to prevent youth misconduct, including rebellion against parents, substance abuse, and reckless behavior.
Mass apprehensions are planned for those who continue disruptive behavior, with a focus on restoring respect and discipline.
Parents struggling with unruly children are encouraged to voluntarily report them to the nearest police offices or the Navy command or directly through Governor Helmi's TikTok or WhatsApp accounts.
"This initiative is aimed at saving the future of our children," Helmi said.
