Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang.A container truck driver involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Tangerang, Banten, tested positive for amphetamines following a lab test on Friday (1/11/2024).
"The positive result confirms that the driver, identified as JFN, was under the influence while operating the vehicle, posing serious risks," said Tangerang City Metropolitan Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Zain Dwi Nugroho.
The driver, who was beaten by angry bystanders after the incident, is currently under medical supervision at Tangerang Regional Hospital, as reported by antaranews.com.
The crash began when JFN, driving a wing box truck from Cikokol to Cipondoh, rear-ended a Suzuki Ertiga stopped at a traffic light. Attempting to flee, he struck more motorcyclists and pedestrians before being stopped by residents at the Adipura Monument.
Seven people sustained injuries, including four motorcyclists, a car driver, and a pedestrian, along with JFN. The crash also damaged 10 cars and six motorcycles.
The Tangerang Police and the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Accident Analysis team are investigating the crash scene, using scientific crime investigation methods to determine the full sequence of events.
