inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police have named the driver of a Calya car who drove recklessly in the Gunung Sahari area of Central Jakarta as both a violator and a suspect. In this case, police identified the driver as HM.
"The person concerned is charged under Article 311 Paragraphs 1, 2, and 3 and faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison and a fine of 8 million rupiah," explained the Director of Traffic for the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Komarudin, Thursday (2/26/2026).
He explained that HM tested negative for drugs and alcohol in this incident. At the time of the incident, he was on his way to Ancol with his girlfriend.
Komarudin explained that HM claimed to have just arrived in Jakarta. However, his reckless driving had been observed by the patrol team.
"He was driving his vehicle improperly, at high speed, and it was known or suspected that the car plate number he was using was not in accordance with its intended use. Officers followed the vehicle, which turned around at Indonesian Navy Main HQ, then turned around and went to Gunung Sahari 4 street," said Komarudin.
