West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police to Investigate Alleged Sinking Human Trafficking Ship in Malaysia

inp.polri.go.id – Lombok. Related to a sinking ship incident in Malaysia that killed two Lombok people, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police is conducting an investigation. NTB Regional Police and the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) have been on the ground to investigate the ship's crew's recruitment process. Chief of Subdirectorate 4 of Young Teenage Girl of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of NTB Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Ni Made Pujewati, explained that the Prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (CPMI) that become the victim of the sinking ship in Malaysia is suspected to be the victim of human trafficking offences (TPPO). For the moment, Police is still investigating and identifying the victims. "From the identity, we then will develop the TPPO investigation", the Chief of Subdirectorate 4 of Young Teenage Girl of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of NTB Regional Police said on Sunday (19/20/2021). She also explained that the victim's identities are the entry of the investigation related to the incident's time and place and also the chains of events of alleged human trafficking offence. "Eight people are identified from NTB; two of them died", she explained. The deceased victims are Basarudin, from Kawo village, Pujut, Central Lombok, and Syech Musaela, from Kopang Rembiga village, Kopang, Central Lombok. Another six people are: Gunarman, from Lenek Ramban Biak village, Aikmel district, East Lombok Yoan Eki Sudiatma, from Kedongdong Daya village, Pringgasela district, East Lombok Dedi Suryadi, from East Anjani village, Suralaga district, East Lombok Muhammad Nasir, from Balemontong village, Pujut district, Central Lombok Syamsuddin, from Pemasah village, Jerowaru district, East Lombok Alwi, from Mampe village, Jerowaru district, East Lombok (my/bq/hy)
