Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. The Chief of West Papua Regional Police, Inspector General Jhonny Edison Isir has reminded to his subordinates personnel to uphold neutrality during the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
Emphasizing the commitment of the Indonesian National Police (INP) to refrain from engaging in practical politics, the Police Chief asserted the importance of maintaining a conducive security situation for the smooth progress of all stages of the 2024 elections.
"The INP has emphasized that INP members must remain neutral, and I reiterate that all levels, from provincial to district police, must remain neutral," he said on Tuesday (2/1/2023).
Certain areas, such as Maybrat (South West Papua), are prioritized for additional personnel deployment under operational control. Given the high potential for conflict, these regions require heightened attention.
Meanwhile, the Commander of the XVIII/Kasuari Military Command, Major General Ilyas Alamsyah Harahap, asserted the Indonesian Military continuous support for the successful the 2024 elections.
