Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta Regional Police honored Sagala Enjelina Moralina Tresia, an online motorbike taxi driver, for her life saving actions during a traffic accident on Jalan Dr. Sardjito, Yogyakarta, on 23 September 2024. 

The swift response of Enjelina, who works for ShopeeFood, went viral on social media after being shared by Yogyakarta Police Chief Traffic Directorate, Senior Superintendent Dr. Alfian Nurrizal.

According to Chief Alfian, Enjelina provided Basic Life Support (BLS) to the critically injured victim and ensured quick medical intervention by coordinating with emergency services. 

“Fortunately, the driver stepped in to provide first aid, stabilizing the victim until paramedics arrived,” he said in his post, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The Yogyakarta Police awarded Enjelina a new motorcycle and a recommendation from the Yogyakarta Police Chief Inspector General Suwondo Nainggolan for her younger sibling to enroll in the police academy. 

“Her bravery and quick thinking set an example of public responsibility and compassion,” Chief Alfian said..

Thanking the honor, Enjelina said she was simply doing her duty to help others in need.

 “I’m thankful for the recognition. It’s a reminder to act when others are in danger,” she said.
