inp.polri.go.id-  Jakarta. The Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Indonesian National Police (INP) uncovered 80 kg of methamphetamine smuggling in South Sulawesi. This discovery led to the arrests of suspects Buhori B and Muhammad Alwi.

"This discovery began on Friday, July 25, 2025, when a joint team conducted a technical analysis and evaluation of the investigation to be conducted in Pare-Pare Regency, South Sulawesi," explained Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of INP Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate of INP, on Monday (8/11/2025).

Then, on Sunday, July 27, 2025, a joint team comprising INP Sub-Directorate IV, the Narcotics Investigation Center (NIC) Unit, and the Customs and Excise Team departed for South Sulawesi to conduct an investigation. Based on information from the public, a drug transaction was expected on Mattirotasi Baru street, Pare-Pare Regency, South Sulawesi Province.

"The joint team then conducted a SV and mapping in the area, where they found three people in a Suzuki Carry car, and two others were getting into a white Mitsubishi Double Cabin," he said.

He added that the two individuals' movements were highly suspicious. The joint team immediately pursued and apprehended the three individuals. A search and inspection then occurred, resulting in the discovery of methamphetamine.

The joint team then consolidated and verified the authenticity of the items using a narcotics test kit. The results ultimately came back positive for methamphetamine.

"The suspects and the evidence were then taken to the INP Criminal Investigation Agency's Narcotics Directorate for further investigation," he said.
