Inp.polri.go.id - Lubuk Basung. The Agam Health Office in West Sumatra is investigating suspected food poisoning that sickened 11 evacuees affected by a hydrometeorological disaster at a temporary shelter in Jorong Labuah, Sungai Batang, Agam Regency, on Saturday.
“We have instructed the Maninjau Community Health Center to conduct a field investigation to identify the cause of the poisoning,” said Agam Health Office Head Hendri Rusdian on Sunday (14/12/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.
The victims, consisting of children, adult women, and men, reported symptoms including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dizziness after consuming meals provided by a public kitchen and food purchased locally. Health workers collected food samples on Sunday to determine the source.
Due to damaged road access following recent flash floods, all victims were referred to Lubuk Basung Regional Hospital for treatment. Ten patients have since recovered and returned home, while one remains hospitalized for dehydration.
Authorities are coordinating with disaster response teams to ensure food safety at evacuation sites as investigations continue.
