inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. Chief of East Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Nico Afinta Karo-Karo and the ranks of the East Java Regional Leadership Communication Forum held a Coordination Meeting for the Lilin Semeru Operation 2021, which was held at the Mahameru Building, East Java Regional Police, Saturday (12/18/2021). Appearing to be present at the coordination meeting were the Governor of East Java, represented by Daily Executive Secretary of the Province of East Java Heru Tjahjono, Commander of Regional Military V Brawijaya, Major General of Indonesian National Armed Forces, Nurchahyanto and the High-Rank Executives of the East Java Regional Police and all other stakeholders. In his remarks, the Chief of East Java Regional Police said that along with the looseness of Micro Restriction activities due to the lowering of Micro Restriction levels, this has caused people to pay less attention to the health protocols that have been set. This can be seen from the large crowds in several shopping locations, entertainment venues, and other public locations. Some of these locations have neglected the application of care to protect. So it is feared that it will cause new clusters of Covid-19 to spread in public spaces, especially now that it has been found. A new variant of the virus, namely Omicron, which is currently based on a report from the Ministry of the Health Republic of Indonesia, has entered the territory of Indonesia. "Therefore, to prevent the spread of the virus in Indonesia, the Government through the Joint Decree of the 3 Ministers has issued a policy of eliminating collective leave during the 2021 Christmas and New Year holiday and the enactment of Minister of Home Affairs No. 66 of 2021 regarding the prevention and control of COVID-19 at the time of 2021 Christmas and New Year. Issued it to limit people's mobility, especially during the 2021 Christmas holidays and the 2022 new year, so that it is hoped that after the Christmas and New Year's holidays 2021, there will not be an explosion in the spread of Covid-19 as feared by epidemiologists, "added the Chief of East Java Regional Police. "Therefore, to provide a sense of security and comfort and prevent the spread of covid-19 during the Christmas and New Year celebration, the East Java Regional Police and the ranks supported by the Indonesian National Armed Forces and related institutions will carry out the Lilin Semeru Operation 2021 in the context of securing the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year in the East Java region. Before the operation, East Java Regional Police also carried out Enhanced Routine Activities from 17 to 23 December 2021, focusing on Judicial Operation activities, creating conditions for the maintenance of public order and safety and traffic activities to support the handling of COVID-19 as well as create conditions for Community Security and Order conducive ahead of Christmas and New Year," concluded the Chief of East Java Regional Police. The Lilin Semeru Operation will be carried out for ten days, from December 24, 2021, to January 2, 2022. In this operation, the East Java Regional Police and the ranks will involve a force of 9,940 personnel consisting of 930 Regional Police personnel and 9,010 Departemental Police Ranks.
