inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Ahead of the upcoming Christmas and New Year Eve holiday, the government has reduced the ticket price up to 10% for domestic travel with planes.
Ministry of Transportation Spokesperson Elba Damhuri said the reduction was in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's direction. This is to help the public reduce the burden of ticket prices at all airports in Indonesia.
"The government has agreed to lower domestic flight ticket prices by 10 percent during Christmas and New Year. At all airports in Indonesia," he said, as reported by the RRI website, Wednesday (11/27/2024).
On his occasion he asked airlines, Angkasa Pura, Pertamina and Airnav to reduce fuel surcharge, PJP2U and avtur at several airports in Indonesia. This is done so that the overall tariff reduction can be implemented with a target of reducing ticket prices by at least 10 percent.
"The implementation of the tariff adjustment itself will be valid from December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025. Or for 16 days during the year-end holiday season. Passengers who have purchased tickets for flights during that period can be given incentives, according to the policies of each airline if still possible," he said.
According to him, the decision to reduce airline ticket prices is good news for Indonesians who use airplanes during the holiday season. He also believes that this decision can boost the domestic economy and tourism in the last quarter of 2024.
