inp.polri.go.id - Karawang. The West Java Regional Police continue their patrol and service to the flood locations in Karangligar Village, Karawang Regency, Wednesday (1/21/2026). Police reports say that the deepest flood reached approximately 2.5 meters and the least is around 70 centimeters.

Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan, stated that most affected residents are evacuating to their relatives for safer places.

"Therefore, we are conducting routine patrols, both day and night, to secure the flood-affected areas and prevent looting and theft," said Hendra Rochmawan.

According to preliminary data, the number of people affected by the flood in Karangligar Village has reached approximately 7,158, and many have not yet been able to return to their homes.

At several evacuation points, the police, along with relevant agencies, are distributing food aid provided by the West Java Regional Police and voluntary assistance from the community.

In addition to securing the area, the West Java Regional Police also provide routine health services to affected communities. Minor medical treatment is provided door-to-door, especially for people remaining in their homes or in evacuation centers.

To date, approximately 1,100 families have received health services, both at the relocation sites and directly at the crime scenes (TKP).

Routine patrols are also focused on guarding abandoned homes and anticipating potential hazards, such as electrical short circuits caused by floodwaters.

Given the still-unpredictable weather conditions, the police urge the public to remain vigilant, especially when using electrical installations that could endanger safety.

The West Java Regional Police affirmed their commitment to remain present in the community by prioritizing a humane approach to provide a sense of security and protection, while ensuring the basic needs of flood-affected residents are met.
