inp.polri.go.id – Bali Police Chief Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra attended, as well as participated, in opening the international sporting event, Maybank Marathon 2022 in Gianyar, Bali, Sunday (28/8/22).
The event was also attended by the Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, Deputy Chief of the Bali Police Brigadier General I Ketut Suardana, as well as regional stakeholders and the main officials of the Bali Police.
The Maybank Marathon 2022, which is the only marathon event in the country that has received certification from the World Athletics Agency, presents the Marathon (42.195 km), Half-Marathon (21.1 km) and 10Km categories, which participated by approximately 10 thousand participants from 50 different countries.
Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra said the Maybank Marathon 2022 activity was part of the government's program in accelerating Bali's economic recovery after being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic in the Sport Tourism economy. To support the government’s program, the Bali Police held Operation Gapura Agung IX which involved 887 personnel consisting of elements from the Bali Regional Police, Indonesian Armed Forces, Department of Transportation and involving Pecalang to help secure this international scale event.
