Inp.polri.go.id - Batang. The Batang Sub-regional Police in Central Java conducted on-site medical examinations for residents affected by flooding on Sunday (18/1/2026), to prevent post-disaster illnesses and ensure community health amid ongoing emergency conditions.
“Our priority is to make sure residents remain healthy during the flood and receive immediate treatment when needed,” said Batang Police Chief Superintendent Veronika, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The checks were carried out in Karangasem Utara and Klidang Lor sub-districts, targeting both affected neighborhoods and evacuation shelters. Police medical teams found several residents suffering from high blood pressure, fatigue, skin irritation, and diarrhea, largely due to lack of rest and prolonged exposure to floodwaters.
Medications were provided on the spot based on individual complaints. The Police Medical Unit remains on standby at the Batang Police headquarters and is ready to deploy rapidly if conditions worsen or additional assistance is required. Residents welcomed the service, citing relief after receiving treatment following a night of severe flooding reaching up to one meter.
