Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Mobile Brigade (Brimob) of the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police evacuated residents from flood-hit neighborhoods along Gatot Subroto Road, Karang Raharja Village, North Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, on Sunday (18/1/2026) after the Kali Ulu Cikarang river overflowed following heavy rainfall.

“We immediately prioritized rescuing residents and delivering humanitarian assistance to ensure the safety of affected communities,” said Metro Jaya Brimob Commander Senior SUperintendent Henik Maryanto, as reported by antaranews.com.

A Brimob’s SAR team was deployed to carry out evacuations, secure vital documents, and safeguard valuables from submerged homes to prevent further losses. The operation was conducted in coordination with local administration authorities and community officers to accelerate evacuation, data collection on affected residents, and area security.

Brimob officers remain on standby at the site to monitor conditions and provide additional assistance if needed. Despite overcast weather, the situation was reported to be under control. Chief Henik urged residents living near riverbanks to stay alert for potential follow-up flooding and to contact officers promptly if assistance is required.
