Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Commissioner Lolly Suhenty invites the Indonesian National Police (INP) to solidify their collaboration in monitoring 2024 General Election. The initiative was taken to prevent and act against the violations of general elections, particularly in social media.
“INP and Bawaslu can collaborate in mapping and early detect the election vulnerabilities, particularly in the dimensions of the socio-political context,” says Commissioner Lolly in her remarks on Wednesday (11/22/2023).
Lolly hopes that INP could suppress racism, hoax, and hate speech politicization potentials. Same goes for money politics during election campaign.
The collaboration aims to strengthen their socialization efforts and solidify INP neutrality during election. Their cooperation also aims to prevent and act against violation of the Electronic Transaction Information (ITE) Law.
“Seeing the 2019 General Election where Bawaslu, KPU, KPI, Kemenkominfo, and INP collaborates in preventing the politicization of racism, hoax, and hate speech, we could form cyber patrols team,” she adds.
She then reveals that according to Election Vulnerabilities Index (IKP), social media has become the one of the highest vulnerabilities during Election.
