inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN, Dadan Hindayana, is targeting improving the quality of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) services under the Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) program by 2026 through SPPG accreditation and certification.
"In 2026, we are aiming to further improve the quality of the food," said the Head of the National Nutrition Agency on Tuesday (January 20, 2026). According to the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, existing SPPGs must undergo accreditation and certification to improve their service quality.
"Accreditation and certification are to improve service quality so that we can achieve superior SPPG quality, with an A rating. Then, very good with a B rating, good with a C rating, and perhaps even some SPPGs who have to struggle to achieve accreditation," explained the Head of BGN
Meanwhile, this year, BGN is targeting a total of 28,000 SPPGs in agglomeration areas and 8,617 SPPGs in remote areas, reaching 82.9 million MBG beneficiaries.
"We estimate the 2026 target of 28,000 SPPGs in urban areas and 8,617 in remote areas, with a predicted total of 82.9 million beneficiaries. We can reach this target, and it is projected that this will be achieved by mid-year, with a total meal distribution of 21 billion meals," explained Dadan further.
As of January 19, 2026, 21,102 SPPGs had been established, reaching 58.3 million beneficiaries of the MBG program, with daily operational costs reaching IDR 855 billion.
Of the MBG budget, 70 percent is used to purchase raw food ingredients, 20 percent to cover operational costs, including volunteer salaries, and 10 percent to provide incentives for all partners who join the MBG program.
The MBG program itself began on January 6, 2025, with 190 SPPGs in 26 provinces across Indonesia.
