Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) announced that 75.3 percent of Indonesia’s season zones have entered the rainy season as of late November 2024, covering 526 out of 698 zones nationwide.

“Use water wisely so communities can better manage potential dry spells,” BMKG said in its official advisory reported by antaranews.com on Thursday (4/12/2025)

The rainy season now spans large parts of Sumatra, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and several regions in Papua. BMKG confirmed that no province has experienced more than two consecutive months without rainfall, although Gorontalo recorded a medium-level dry spell of 30 days.

Authorities urged residents to remain attentive to local weather conditions by conserving water and preparing their surroundings to absorb and channel rain effectively. The guidance aims to help communities stay resilient amid shifting climate patterns and potential regional drought risks.
