BMKG weather forecaster, Sastia Frista, in an online broadcast followed in Jakarta, said that the potential for light intensity rain is predicted to fall in the cities of Pekanbaru, Padang, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Palangkaraya, Samarinda, Tanjung Selor, Palu, Gorontalo, Kendari, Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Jayapura.

Moderate rain is potential in the cities of Medan, Jambi, and Merauke. Meanwhile, rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in the cities of Pontianak and Banjarmasin.

(BMKG) also warned of thick clouds to fog in Banda Aceh, Palembang, Serang, Jakarta, Surabaya, Mamuju, Manado, and Manokwari, which could change to heavy rain at any time and increase the potential for flooding.

She explained that cyclonic circulation was observed in the South China Sea, Andaman Sea, and the Indian Ocean west of Sumatra, forming a convergence in those waters - including extending across Jambi-Riau, Central Java-West Java, South Sulawesi-Papua.

BMKG also reported that, in addition, during the same period, maximum hot temperatures of 29-34 degrees Celsius are expected to occur during the day in several areas in Bandung, Serang, Jakarta, Semarang, Pangkal Pinang, Palembang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya, which could trigger drought and forest and land fires.
