Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura.  The bodies of two construction workers fatally shot by an armed criminal group (KKB) in Kuantapo Village, Asotipo District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua, have been evacuated to Purwakarta, West Java.

Jayawijaya Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Anak Agung Made Satruya Bimantara explained on Thursday (5/6/2025) that the victims, identified as Saepudin (39) and Rahmat Hidayat (46), were flown from Wamena to Sentani on a Trigana Air flight before continuing to Jakarta on Garuda Indonesia flight GA 665. From there, they will be transported by road to their hometown in Purwakarta for burial.

The victims had been working on the construction of a GKI church building in Asotipo, Wamena, when they were attacked on Wednesday (4/5/2025).

Chief Made Satruya urged residents to remain calm and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

“Police will continue to ensure security and stability in the region,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
