Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. Canadian racer Rusty Wyatt of the Sharjah Team won the 2025 F1 Powerboat World Championship on Lake Toba, North Sumatra, on Sunday (24/8/2025).
The event, held at Mulia Raja Napitupulu Harbor in Balige, featured 24 drivers from eight countries.
“This is a proud moment, not only for me but also for Sharjah Team, as we proved our consistency at the highest level of powerboat racing,” Wyatt said after securing the championship, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He collected 20 points, edging out Finland’s Alec Weckstrom of Victory Team, who scored 15 points, and Britain’s Ben Jelf of F1 Atlantic Team with 12 points. The Canadian defended his crown, having also triumphed in Toba during the 2024 season.
Last year, Wyatt outpaced Sweden’s Erik Stark and Jonas Andersson in a close 30-lap race. The 2025 championship further cements his dominance in the UIM F1H2O circuit, with Lake Toba reaffirming its place as a premier international motorsport venue.
