Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for possession of seven kilograms of marijuana ready for distribution, authorities confirmed on Sunday (24/8/2025). 

The arrest was carried out by the Metro Jaya Police Sub-Directorate 3 of the Narcotics Directorate.

“The first arrest took place around 5 pm on Thursday near Pulogebang Terminal, where officers found five packages of marijuana weighing over five kilograms,” said Senior Inspector Deny Simanjuntak,the  Head of Unit 2 of the Narcotics Directorate, in a written statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Further investigation led officers to the suspect’s rented house in Cakung, East Jakarta, where they discovered two more packages weighing an additional two kilograms. 

“In total, seven kilograms of marijuana and the suspect’s mobile phone were seized as evidence,” Chief Deny added.

The suspect is currently being held at the Metro Jaya Police headquarters for further questioning.
