Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have foiled the distribution of 50 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine following an intelligence-led operation that led to the arrest of a suspect.
“We received information about a suspected meth shipment originating from Merak Port,” said Central Jakarta Police Narcotics Unit Chief Superintendent Wisnu Kuncoro on Thursday (1/1/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Acting on the tip, officers tracked a suspicious vehicle from Merak Port, Banten, to Tambun, Bekasi, West Java. The suspect, identified as IR, was arrested while retrieving a Mitsubishi Pajero in Satiamekar Village, where officers discovered meth concealed inside the car’s door panels. Investigators revealed the vehicle had been transported using a towing service to evade detection.
Police said the suspect admitted he was instructed by a fugitive, identified as B, to deliver the drugs to Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta, in exchange for Rp 20 million. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the wider network.
