Inp.polri.go.id - Palu. Central Sulawesi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Endi Sutendi urged residents to welcome New Year 2026 in a simple and responsible manner to maintain public order and security across the province.
“Let us welcome New Year 2026 with simplicity, care, and shared responsibility to ensure Central Sulawesi remains safe and peaceful,” he said on Saturday (27/12/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.
Chief Endi called on the public to avoid excessive celebrations that could lower vigilance and trigger security disturbances, including fireworks, loud exhausts, alcohol consumption, and vehicle convoys on public roads. According to him, such activities risk endangering safety and disrupting community comfort.
He explained that The appeal reflected solidarity with communities in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra that are still struggling with the impacts of floods and landslides. Chief Endi emphasized that modest celebrations demonstrate empathy and social responsibility during a time of national concern.
Police will continue preventive measures throughout the New Year period to ensure stability and safety. The Central Sulawesi Police encourage residents to celebrate at home, respect others, and contribute to a calm and orderly transition into the new year.
