Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. THE Indonesian National Police (INP) has deployed hundreds of personnel and heavy equipment to accelerate disaster response and restore access in North Aceh, following severe flooding that damaged bridges and roads.
“The most urgent need right now is restoring road and bridge access, because once access is open, recovery will move much faster,” INP Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo said on Saturday (27/12/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.
The operation targets flood-affected areas, particularly Langkahan District, where two reservoirs burst and several bridges collapsed. Polri is building temporary bridges with limited capacity to reconnect isolated communities.
Under direct instructions from the INP Chief, the INP distributed food aid, clean water, and worship supplies, while seven units of heavy equipment were mobilized to clear debris and reopen roads. Medical supplies were also dispatched after several community health centers suffered major damage.
To support field operations, the INP deployed additional Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers, vehicles, tents, and motorcycles, reaffirming its commitment to sustained humanitarian assistance until conditions normalize.
