Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, ensure that social aid distribution acceleration during the Emergency PPKM (Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement) has been conduction all across the region.
Former Chief of Banten Regional Police said that since the implementation of Emergency PPKM from July 3 to 9, 2021, Police has distributed 475,420 packages and 2,471,217 kilograms of rice, mainly to one that most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Since July 3 to 19, 2021, Police has distributed social aid of 475,420 basic necessities packages and 2,471,217 kilograms of rice to people most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic across the 34 regions of Regional Police", Chief of Police said on Tuesday (20/7/2021).
Then, in 2020, Police distributed 394,347 basic necessities packages, 30,000 tons of rice, 790,436 PPE and medical devices, and established 13,119 soup kitchens. Meanwhile, until July 2, 2021, Police has distributed social aid of 750,780 basic necessities packages, 3,573 tons of rice, 763,079 PPE and medical devices, and established 143,467 soup kitchens.
"We are accelerating social aid distribution to all 34 provinces of Indonesia, either one implementing Emergency PPKM or Micro-scale PPKM", the Chief of Police said.
Chief of Police explained that the government, through Armed Forces and Police, also has poured out Emergency PPKM social aid by targeting people in need. Besides, a national vaccination programme towards herd immunity continues to be held.
Chief of Police instructs all levels of personnel to accelerate Emergency PPKM social aid to the people.
Chief of Police also asked the Armed Forces-Police personnel to map the social aid distribution. Chief of Police hopes that no more region reporting hindered social aid distribution.
Former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police also reminds all people to communicate and coordinate with Community Police and Armed Forces Unit if their aid stock runs out. Therefore, Sigit appeals to the public to stay calm.
"People, please stay calm and not worry. If the aid package runs out, report to us immediately. Our personnel in Armed Forces and Police or even Social Affair Ministry would give the aid again", Chief of Police said.
On the other side, the Chief of Police explained that implementation of Health Protocols is the key to push back Coronavirus transmission in public. Therefore, Sigit reaffirms the importance of Health Protocols in daily activities.
"We are doing all of these to keep yourself, your family, and other people healthy", the Chief of Police said.
The Chief of Police then encourages all walks of life to be actively involved in the national vaccination programme or distribute social aid to the people in need.
"I encourage all walks of life from students, activists, youth and society organisations, community organisations, religious figures, clerics, and public figures to hold hands together on helping Indonesian people and reach the Indonesian government's targets", the Ambon-born general said.
