Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin confirmed that the Chinese-made Chengdu J-10 fighter jet will soon take flight in Jakarta.
“It will be flying in Jakarta very soon,” he told reporters on Wednesday (15/10/2025), without revealing the exact date of the aircraft’s arrival or flight demonstration.
Earlier, Defense Ministry spokesperson Brigadier General Frega Wenas Inkiriwang said the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) is evaluating the J-10 platform to ensure it meets Indonesia’s operational and defense requirements.
The J-10 purchase has been widely discussed since reports emerged in September that Indonesia might acquire 42 fighter jets from China under a renewed contract arrangement. Meanwhile, the Air Force is also expecting delivery of three French-made Rafale jets in early 2026 as part of its modernization program.
