Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian national football team coach Shin Tae-yong has unveiled the squad for the 2024 ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup (AMEC), running from 9 December 2024 to 5 January 2025.
Prominent players such as Asnawi Mangkualam, Marselino Ferdinan, Pratama Arhan, and Rafael Struick headline the Garuda squad, which largely features young talents from the U-22 team, including Arkhan Kaka, M. Rayhan Hannan, Sulthan Zaky, and Kadek Arel.
In this year's tournament, Indonesia is placed in Group B alongside Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam, according to antaranews.com.
The Garuda squad will face Myanmar in their opening match at Thuwunna Stadium, Yangon, on December 9. They will then host Laos at Manahan Stadium, Solo, on 12 December 2024 before heading to Vietnam for a clash at Phu Tho Stadium on 15 December 2024. The group stage concludes with a home game against the Philippines on December 21.
Indonesia aims to win its first-ever AMEC title, having finished as runners-up six times in previous editions (2000, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2016, and 2020).
