inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that the reflection of the momentum for the commemoration of Heroes Day on November 10 is the struggle for Indonesia to rise and move forward from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Heroes' Day commemorates the freedom fighters against the invaders, said Sigit. His spirit must be emulated to unite and join hands by all future generations of the nation today in the face of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
"The spirit of the struggle of the previous heroes of the Indonesian nation must be implemented by the current generation of the nation. By fighting and uniting, we must believe, Indonesia can quickly rise amid the Covid-19 Pandemic," said Sigit in a written statement, Jakarta, Wednesday ( 10/11).
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Sigit said, Indonesia had been affected in terms of its economy. However, continued Sigit, with the spirit of unity and integrity of all elements of the nation, at this time, Indonesia has risen from this adversity.
All of that, said Sigit, thanks to all stakeholders who have participated in the struggle with the Government in dealing with the Covid-19 Pandemic. For this reason, Indonesia is currently ranked first in Southeast Asia to suppress the growth rate of Covid-19.
"With the fighters and heroes present amid the Covid-19 Pandemic, all challenges and obstacles can be overcome together. This makes us more optimistic about being able to win against the coronavirus," said the Chief former of Banten Regional Police.
Sigit stated that this optimism also strengthens and convinces the world that Indonesia can carry out national and international activities while still paying attention to security and health factors. This will certainly further grow the Indonesian economy.
On the other hand, the Head Former of the Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said that, amid the Covid-19 Pandemic, all Indonesian people today can become heroes. This can be reflected by taking an active role in handling and controlling Covid-19.
"All people today can become heroes for Indonesia by working together and hand in hand in handling and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic," said Sigit.
Sigit also expressed his appreciation to the health workers (Nakes), Indonesian National Armed Forces, Indonesian National Police, volunteers and all other elements of society who continue to fight at the forefront of dealing with Covid-19. According to Sigit, they are the current Heroes.
"Thank you to the health workers, the ranks of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Indonesian National Police, volunteers, students and all stakeholders who have played a role in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. You are today's national heroes," said Sigit.
In this momentum, Sigit again asked all Indonesian people to continue respecting the heroes' services who preceded and liberated the Indonesian nation.
As stated by the Founder of the Nation, Soekarno, Sigit stated, never forget history (Jas Merah).
"We don't forget to continue to guide the character of the heroes by fighting for Indonesia from all fields," concluded Sigit.
