Inp.polri.go.id – South Kalimantan. In maintaining the security in their jurisdiction area, South Kalimantan Regional Police and Banjarmasin Sub-regional City Police dispatched personnel to patrol. Led by Head of Banjarmasin Sub-regional City Police, Senior Superintendent Sabana Atmojo, the patrol aimed to anticipate security disturbances during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Furthermore, Sabana continued that the patrol also aimed to prevent illegal racing, and other social misconduct that could trigger social conflicts. “There are four billiard game locations, 13 hotels, and two beverage depots that we visited during our patrol. We conveyed some security messages to the managers of the location, and also had to call some parents for the teenagers that we have to secure,” said Atmojo. On the other hand, Atmojo further revealed the result of the operation, which confiscated 68 bottles/canned alcoholic beverages from a beverage despot and secured 27 people for misbehavior in several hotels. Moreover, the patrol unit also secured five teenagers who attempted to have a sarong war with the other group when the unit scoured the Mitra Plaza area. “This activity is part of our effort in creating a public safe and secure situation during Ramadan in Banjarmasin City,” concludes Atmojo.
