Military and defense observer Connie Rahakundini Bakrie was reported to the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Unit with the allegations of defamation, slander and fake news for her YouTube video titled “Kanal Anak Bangsa”. Contained in a police report LP/B/52/11/2024/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI, the reporting party of this case is the Head of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani. Head of Public Information Section of INP Public Information Division, Senior Superintendent Erdi A Chaniago confirms the existence of the report. “Yes, there was a report filed to the INP Criminal Investigation Unit,” said Erdi in his written statement on Tuesday (2/13/2024). Erdi states that as of now, INP will study the report first and will then examine the reporting party and the reported. In detail, Connie was reported to have committed defamation, slander, and fake news as was stated in Article 45 paragraph (4) Jo Article 27A UURI Number 1 of 2024 second amendment to UURI number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE and/or Article 310 of the Criminal Code, Article 311 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 14 and Article 15 UURI Number 1 of 1946.
