inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimukti Yudhoyono, famously called AHY, asked the human resources of the Transportation Ministry to realize the environmental friendly transportation connectivity to support sustainable development of Indonesia.
"If the regions of the archipelago are well connected, then we can also hope that the movement or mobility of people and goods can be better, of course it will be safer and more comfortable, more efficient and affordable, and we also hope that it will always be environmentally friendly," said AHY on Thursday (11/14/2024).
According to him, the step is important as part of an effort to support continuous development and nurturing the nature.
He also emphasized the importance of developing transportation that prioritizes environmentally friendly aspects, so that every transportation movement can have a positive impact on the environment and reduce pollution.
"Increasing transportation connectivity has a direct impact on economic growth and distribution of welfare. With good connectivity, national economic growth can be increased and community welfare can be spread more evenly throughout Indonesia," explained AHY.
In addition, a well-connected transportation system will strengthen various sectors of community life. Optimal connectivity is expected to not only provide easy access but also improve the quality of life of the community as a whole.
Increasing connectivity that prioritizes an environmentally friendly approach, according to AHY, will contribute to efforts to maintain environmental sustainability, amid the complexity of global challenges, including the increasing population, and sustainable transportation development that is becoming increasingly important.
AHY added that Indonesia's population growth, both in urban and rural areas, requires transportation solutions that can meet the increasing mobility needs.
Therefore, the development of modern, efficient and environmentally friendly transportation is a shared challenge that must be realized immediately.
AHY noted that this achievement can only be achieved if the Ministry of Transportation has superior and professional human resources in the field of transportation. Therefore, developing the competence and integrity of human resources is very important.
