Inp.polri.go.id - Medan.  The Medan District Court sentenced to death  aman on Thursday (26/9/2024) for his involvement in trafficking 28 kilograms of methamphetamine and 14,431 ecstasy pills.

“The court sentences Francesco Ray Lumban Gaol to death,” presiding judge Lenny Megawaty Napitupulu said as she delivered the verdict.

Francesco, 35, was found guilty of violating Article 114, paragraph 2 of Indonesia’s Narcotics Law. The judge emphasized that his actions posed a severe threat to society, particularly to the younger generation. 

“There are no mitigating factors in this case,” saidJudge Lenny, as quoted by antaranews.com.

After the verdict, Francesco was given seven days to appeal. The sentence matched the demand made by Prosecutor Rizki Fajar Bahari.

According to the prosecution, Francesco was arrested in January when police disguised as buyers caught him during a drug deal in Medan Selayang. A subsequent raid of his rented house uncovered the drugs.
