inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Defense is building defense cooperation with the United States. This effort was carried out through a meeting between Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and the Charge d'Affaires Ad Interim of the US Embassy in Jakarta, Peter M. Haymond, in Central Jakarta, Tuesday (9/23/2025).
The Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the Ministry of Defense Secretariat General, Frega Wenas Inkiriwang, said that the two parties discussed cooperation plans including joint training and soldier exchanges for military education.
Both also touched on the implementation of the ongoing joint training exercise, namely Super Garuda Shield.
"Several strategic issues were also discussed such as the invitation of the USINDOPACOM Commander, the development of the Baturaja Combat Training Center (CTC), the implementation of Super Garuda Shield 2025, as well as bilateral and multilateral education and training programs," continued Frega.
Frega continued the meeting was warm and friendly. It is hoped that the bilateral relations between Indonesia and the United States in the defense sector will become closer and provide benefits for increasing the capabilities of the Indonesian soldiers in maintaining national sovereignty.
