Inp.polri.go.id - Balikpapan.. The East Kalimantan Regional Police will implement strict measures to safeguard the 79th Independence Day ceremony in Kota Nusantara, Indonesia's new capital, fon 17 August 2024.
"We have conducted aerial surveillance to monitor the security of the national event in Kota Nusantara," said East Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto on Saturday (10/8/2024).
He directly led the aerial surveillance on a helicopter flight from Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan International Airport in Balikpapan to observe the routes that officials and guests will use to reach the ceremony in the new capital.
"The focus is on securing the strategic routes leading to Kota Nusantara," he explained.
Upon arriving in IKN, Chief Nanang conducted an on-site inspection of the new capital's police office to verify that all security measures are in place. It included checking several key locations vital for the event's security.
"We are committed to the safety and smooth operation of the event in the new capital," said Senior Superintendent Yuliyanto, the East Kalimantan Police Head of Public Relations.
Security measures will be concentrated on the route from Balikpapan to IKN, particularly in Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency. The priority is to protect key officials and guests, maintaining a secure environment throughout the ceremony.
