East Nusa Tenggara Police Aid Lewotobi Eruption Victims

Inp.polri.go.id - Kupang.  The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police has dispatched a total of 102 personnel to carry out tasks under operational control (BKO) to assist the victims of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores Regency, which erupted on 1 January 2024. "They are dispatched today," said the Head of the Public Relations Unit of the East Nusa Tenggara Police, Senior Superintendent  Ariasandy on Thursday (4/1/2024). He said that it was part of the quick response of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police to assist the East Flores administration in evacuating residents in the five sub-districts affected by the volcanic eruption, antaranews.com reported. "They will be involved in various activities, including recovery, security, and emergency handling to assist the affected community," the spokesperson said. In addition to personnel, various equipment has also been brought to support activities in the field. The equipment is considered essential to ensure that disaster management can be carried out effectively and efficiently. Previously, the Chief of the East Nusa Tenggara Police, Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga, said as many as 300 to 400 personnel were prepared to assist evacuees at the location of the volcanic eruption disaster.
