Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Eight civil servants from Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower were formally charged on Friday (12/12/2025) with allegedly extorting Rp135.29 billion from foreign worker permit agents in a long-running corruption case linked to work permit approvals.
“The defendants forced employers and agents to provide money or goods, and if the demand was not met, the permit applications were deliberately not processed,” prosecutor Nur Haris Arhadi told the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, as cited by antaranews.com.
The defendants are accused of abusing their authority between 2017 and 2025 during the processing of the Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan (RPTKA).
Prosecutors said the scheme involved delaying or blocking online applications until illegal payments were made, including cash, a Vespa motorcycle, and a Toyota Innova vehicle. The alleged proceeds were distributed among the eight officials in varying amounts.
