Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Makassar City Sub-regional Police  rescued a four-year-old girl, identified as Bilqis,, who was abducted from a city park in Makassar, South Sulawesi province and later found deep within the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community in Jambi Province.

“Thank God, the abducted child was found last night and returned safely to Makassar today,” said Makassar Police Chief Senior Superintendent Arya Perdana on Sunday (9/11/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Medical examinations confirmed Bilqis suffered no physical harm, and her psychological condition remained stable. 

“She is cheerful and shows no signs of trauma,” Chief Arya said, adding that suspects linked to a human trafficking network will be revealed Monday.

The operation, coordinated with Jambi Regional Police, followed CCTV footage showing Bilqis being taken by a woman while her father was playing tennis. Authorities believe the suspects intended to sell the child and demanded a ransom of Rp 100 million.

Makassar’s Women and Child Protection Office praised police efforts and urged parents to be vigilant in public spaces to prevent similar crimes.
