Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The government gives aids to 44 heirs of General Election ad-hoc who died and suffered from ill or work accident. The aid was given through Employment Social Insurance Administering Agency (BPJS) with a total fund of IDR 2.6 billion.
“Employment BPJS provides life insurance (JKM) to 35 cases and occupational accident insurance (JKK) to nine cases,” said the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhadjir Effendy on Tuesday (2/27/2024).
Muhadjir states that they who received the aid are officers who have been registered in Employment BPJS. In total, there are 1,061,428 election officers who are registered in Employment BPJS.
Of those number, those who are registered in KPU are 960,673 officers, while there are 100,755 registered in Bawaslu Officers. Meanwhile, according to the data released by the Health Ministry, there are 114 election officers who died on duty.
The coordinating minister states that the provision demonstrates the presence of government in acknowledging the hard work and dedication of election ad-hoc officers.
“And to make sure that the family left behind could live on,” said Muhadjir.
Furthermore, the amount of funds given to the heirs are different from one another. Employment BPJS divides the categories into three which are passed away before duty, passed away on duty (February 14th), and on medical treatment.
For those who passed away while on duty, they were given 48 times the payment received. While those who passed away before duty were given IDR 42 million each.
“And scholarship from early to higher education for their children,” conclude Muhadjir.
