Cyber Subdirectorate of Special Crime Investigation Directorate of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police arrested a man who initialled RRM due to spreading a chain message of PPKM (Public Activity Restriction Enforcement) basic necessities package aid by taking names of Ministry of Social Affairs.

Chief of PR and Press Division of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus, said that the case's discovery was started by reports from the ministry to the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police.

"Ministry of Social Affairs reported to Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police on July 12 about an account in social media who spread message containing forms of PPKM package aid worth Rp300,000", Chief of PR and Press Division of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police said on Monday (19/7/2021).

Chief of PR and Press Division of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police explained that the perpetrator is an IT graduate. RRM creates a website with form registration as if the people could get the aid.

"He uses the ministry logo on the website, so it looks like the ministry who share the information", Chief of PR and Press Division of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police said.

Furthermore, the perpetrator spread the message and provide the link to the website. He has done it since November 2020.

"Where does RRM get the profit? From November 2020 until he was declared as suspect, the profit was gathered through the two advertisements he put in that registration website. He has earned Rp200 million from those two advertisements", Chief of PR and Press Division of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police said.
