Anticipating the Surge of Homecoming Flow ahead of the Eid al-Fitr of 1442 H, West Sumatra Regional Police Tightens Inter-province Insulation Checkpoints

Anticipating the surge of homecoming flow that will be expected during days ahead of the Eid 1442 H, West Sumatra Regional Police tightens every inter-province insulation checkpoints in West Sumatra.   Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of West Sumatra Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, stated that West Sumatra Regional Police would tighten the insulation in the West Sumatra's province border to anticipate increasing homecoming mobility, either going in and out of West Sumatra, Tuesday (11/5/2021).   Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of West Sumatra Regional Police also added that West Sumatra Regional Police had established ten insulation checkpoints spread across seven regions in the province that borders the neighbouring provinces.   For the homecoming travelers that desperate to go out of West Sumatra, asserted by Satake, police will not hesitate to force the travellers to turn around.   "We only allow vehicles loaded with logistics or foodstuffs, emergency vehicles, and official vehicles", Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of West Sumatra Regional Police said.   Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of West Sumatra Regional Police also explains that, based on the available data, since the enactment of the homecoming prohibition on May 6th, 2021, 6,501 travellers are forced to make a u-turn in all ten insulation checkpoints in West Sumatra. Those travellers are found in 828 vehicles forced to u-turn by the police.   "We expect people outside West Sumatra to not enter the province, except for the important reasons. Otherwise, please stay at home and connect to the family through virtual/online mediums", Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of West Sumatra Regional Police explains.
