inp.polri.go.id -  Yahya Cholil Staquf, or Gus Yahya, the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, expressed his appreciation to the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, for taking firm and quick action against his own members who implicated in abusing drugs. "Thank you for the sincerity and dedication of the National Police Chief in his tireless efforts to restore the integrity and discipline of the Indonesian National Police," Gus Yahya said in a statement Friday (14/10). "The solidity of the Indonesian National Police, both organizationally and morally, is very important in sustaining and maintaining peace and order in these difficult times," Gus Yahya stated. Previously, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, stated that the Head of the East Java Regional Police Department, Inspector General Teddy Minahasa (TM), had been arrested at a special location linked to the drug trafficking case. "I've previously stated that we would take serious action against everyone who involved in law violations, regardless of rank or position. It is part of our vows to cleaned up the Indonesian National Police, and I've already mentioned it several times," on Friday (10/14) said the Chief of the Indonesian National Police at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters. The Chief of the Indonesian National Police stated that the Metro Jaya Police has previously succeeded in revealing incidents of illegal drug networks. Following an examination of the police personnel, Metro Jaya Regional Police also still continues their development on the case. "From there, we deduced that TM was involved. On that premise, I requested yesterday that the Head of the Professional and Security Division to inspect Inspector General TM," stated the Chief of the Indonesian National Police. “This morning we have decided our decision. Currently, Inspector General TM was indeed allegedly did a violation and he has been secured in a special confinement,” stated the Chief of the Indonesian National Police. "This demonstrates our determination in taking firm action against drugs abuse, and this is also acts as a warning to all members. The community are allowed to report police members who violate the laws and we will deal with them firmly," he stated.
