inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs Tomsi Tohir encouraged regional governments to cooperate with producing regions in maintaining food stocks/availability in the regions.

Tomsi in his statement in Jakarta, Monday (5/5/2025), explained that this effort also aims to control food prices. This step is important so that producing regions can distribute their production results, so that producers get a fair price.

"Hopefully, areas with high [needs] can be supplied well," said Tomsi while leading the Regional Inflation Control Coordination Meeting, quoted by Antaranews in Jakarta, Monday (5/5/2025).

In addition, he appealed to regional governments to coordinate with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in their respective regions to find out the causes of the increase in inflation.

Thus, regional governments can better understand the existing problems, so that control measures can be carried out appropriately. Moreover, he saw that the commodities that experienced price increases in each region were very specific.

"We hope that each regional head can ask their BPS," he explained.

In the meeting, Tomsi also talked with regional governments who experienced food price spiking. He asked about the cause of the high prices, while also explaining the steps that the local government could take.
