Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia announced Friday (30/1/2026) that the Huayou consortium’s electric vehicle (EV) battery project will now pivot to support President Prabowo Subianto’s 100 Gigawatt (GW) Solar Power Plant (PLTS) program.

By signing a Framework Agreement between PT Aneka Tambang (Antam), Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBI), and Chinese Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt, the government aims to produce Indonesian-made energy storage systems tailored for both EVs and solar panels.

"This output is designed to respond directly to the 100 GW Solar Program, ensuring batteries are 'Made in Indonesia' for national energy security," Minister Bahlil said, as cited by antaranews.com.

The consortium, which includes strategic partners EVE Energy and PT Daaz Bara Lestari, will complete the remaining 20 GWh of the "Indonesia Grand Package" battery ecosystem originally initiated by LG. This integrated supply chain spans from upstream nickel mining to downstream production.
