inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) through the Directorate General of Immigration has successfully secured 23 troublesome foreigners (WNA) in Operation Bali Becik at 62 lodgings in the Bali region.
Imipas Minister Agus Andrianto, as confirmed in Jakarta, Friday, said that the operation was carried out by the Immigration Directorate General team and Immigration offices throughout Bali. The operation will continue to be carried out to create a conducive and controlled environment.
"Immigration ranks will continue to carry out regular supervision to ensure compliance of foreigners with applicable laws and norms in order to maintain security and order in the territory of Indonesia, especially Bali," said Agus.
Given the large number of problematic foreign nationals caught at lodging locations, Minister Agus also appealed to the public and tourism accommodation managers to play an active role in supervising foreigners.
Meanwhile, Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman explained that the Bali Becik Task Force examined 312 foreign nationals on May 19–21, 2025. After being examined, 23 of them were found to have violated numerous laws and norms.
"In this operation, we found two foreign nationals who were suspected of being fictitious investors whose cases we will investigate further," he said.
Yuldi added that eight foreign nationals had been detained, with details of one person unable to show a passport, three people suspected of misusing their stay permits, and four others found to have overstayed their stay permits for more than 60 days.
Then, seven foreign nationals had their passports confiscated for further investigation for failure to report changes of address and misuse of stay permits, while six other foreign nationals were further summoned for alleged misuse of stay permits.
According to Yuldi, the task force in the operation not only straightened out the foreigners, but also socialized the Foreigner Reporting Application (APOA) to owners or managers of accommodations in the 62 locations.
"This application is expected to help accommodation managers report the presence and activities of foreign nationals more effectively so that immigration supervision can run more optimally," said Yuldi.
It is known that Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration stipulates that owners or managers of accommodations are required to provide information about foreign guests staying if requested by Immigration officers. If not, they are threatened with a maximum imprisonment of three months or a fine of up to IDR 25 million.
