Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government strongly condemned Israel's large-scale military operation in Jenin, West Bank, describing it as a threat to peace prospects following the Gaza ceasefire.

Indonesia criticized Israel’s escalation as a deliberate attempt to perpetuate its illegal occupation of Palestinian territories. 

"Israel’s violations of international law expose its true intent: making its illegal occupation permanent," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on social media platform X, Saturday (25/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The ministry reaffirmed that the core issue of the conflict is Israel's refusal to recognize the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. It urged the global community to address the injustice and work towards an independent, sovereign Palestinian state under a two-state solution.

The ongoing operation, which began on 21 January 2025, has killed at least 12 people and injured over 40, according to Palestinian authorities. Witnesses reported gunfire and explosions as Israeli bulldozers destroyed infrastructure in Jenin, forcing thousands to flee the area.
