inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Sector Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) welcomes the visit of Japanese delegation Mori Masafumi, as the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, and the Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism of Japan, Terada Yoshimichi in discussing cooperation in infrastructure.
In the meeting, the two parties discussed the cooperation in waste management, smart city development, and disaster mitigation which includes the development of sea wall to protect the North Coast of Java from abrasion and land subsidence.
AHY said that cooperation with Japan supports resilient and environmentally friendly infrastructure.
Mori Masafumi, as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, expressed his support for various infrastructure projects in Indonesia.
Mori also highlights the importance of supporting Transit-Oriented home development and the integration of industrial areas which Indonesia has been working on.
On the other hand, AHY expressed his gratitude for the commitment of Japan in supporting the Indonesian infrastructure development. He also appreciates the Japanese delegation who still attend the meeting despite the busy schedule.
“For a country as big as Indonesia, with a population of over 270 million, the land, sea, and air connectivity are really vital. This cooperation hopefully could reduce the cost for logistics, supporting food self-sufficiency, energy, and facing climate change,” says AHY on Monday (1/13/2025).
AHY believes that Japan has a wide range of experiences in building modern urban areas. He is optimistic that this cooperation will further strengthen the strategic relations between the two countries.
